A research-driven assessment of organic vegetable farming in Madhya Pradesh for SRIJAN India, examining production practices, market demand, and business opportunities to strengthen value chains and farmer incomes.
Overview
We conducted a comprehensive study for SRIJAN India to assess the market potential and production capabilities of organic vegetables cultivated by farmers in Madhya Pradesh. The research aimed to map existing farming practices, understand demand trends, and identify opportunities for scaling organic cultivation and strengthening market linkages.
The project began with finalising the study objectives and designing data collection tools tailored for farmers, B2B companies, and B2C stakeholders. We collected data from over 200 farmers and businesses, followed by thorough data cleaning, analysis, and interpretation.
Based on these insights, we prepared a detailed report and presented the findings to SRIJAN India, providing actionable recommendations for promoting organic vegetable farming and enhancing market connectivity.
